Tinywall and Windows 10 Hotspot

·1 min

Tinywall is an amazingly simple firewall. It is very stright forward ,it satisfy my needs and the best thing is it completely free of charge.

The only problem I have after using this firewall is I can’t use hotspot feature in Windows 10. I could turn it off, connect my hotspot and turn it on again. After a few minutes the firewall will block the connection and I can’t connect again to the hotspot.

After a few search I finally found the solution. I need to exclude some service in order for it to run properly. Follow below step to fix it:

  1. Right click your tiny wall icon on the bottom right corner.
  2. Click Manage.
  3. On Application Exception tab, click on Add Application button.
  4. Then click on Choose a service… button.
  5. Find Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service, then press Select and OK after that.
  6. Test your hotspot connection.

One more tip, I suggest you disable bluetooth connection because it can interfere with your Wi-Fi connection. Enjoy your hotspot.
